4 Fun All Star Hero Villain Dynamic Duo All Water Kids Kayaks

North Fork Payette

The day before yesterday we did the North Fork of the Payette in Idaho with the Voorhees. I had only seen photos of the south fork so i thought this run would be fun but not super difficult. But when we got there i realized that it was big water for only 2,700 cfs. We decided not to run the big rapid at the put in called steepness. We went downriver a little bit and put in and the whole run was just continuous big volume fun. The flows the Voorhees usually run it is around 2,00 cfs so all the holes that are there at low water were just big waves so it made most of the rapids really easy but still big. We did around 13 miles and it was great the whole way down. On the first named rapid Disneyland my dad got worked in a hole a little bit but got out fine. I almost crashed into him when he was in there. What is weird is that the whole run was big water, but you were still hitting rocks all the time with your boat or paddle. I was in the 2 fun and my dad was in the 4 fun. Alec was in the Villain and his dad was in the Fluid creekboat. When we were loading up to go it was a weird feeling. Because me and my dad were in funs and we were packing and it was like are you wearing a shorty? yeah, but i am going to wear a full face and elbow pads. So we were in funs with shorty drydecks, elbow pads and fullfaces. But i was happy with everything we had on. I was trying to aim for every hole or wave in the river. But we made it down totally fine with the Cordovas watching us and filming the whole way down while doing shuttle. We only had my dad get a little worked at the top, and Alec back endered once, and Alec’s dad got stuck on some rocks upside down towards the end. But they did a great job leading us down the whole way and i had a blast. I am glad we got on that run and then the next day we paddled at the awesome Kelly’s Whitewater Park and then headed out to Boise and played some disc golf on the top of a mountain. Now we are headed into the middle of boise to do some dealer visits. Look for the Payette Headcam Video as well as a quick video of Kelly’s Whitewater Park. Thanks for reading
