We are very happy to announce that the 2012 builds for Journeys and Rogues will have the newly fitted 2012 Sweet Cheeks as part of the standard build and are shipping already. Jackson Kayak is known for many things, but top on the list for outfitting is our legendary SWEET CHEEKS!!! When someone is going to spend all day touring and exploring in a kayak, you need all day comfort and bottom line, the custom fit for each person in our Sweet Cheeks is the way to go (no pun intended).
This year you will see a change in the shape of our Sweet Cheeks bean bag seating system. This new shape allows for a fantastic form fitting to our thermoformed seat pan as well as how it integrates with our hip pads. 2011 was a big year for the sales of our Journey and Rogue series and in 2012 we are beefing up the outfitting to increase the already rather comfortable fit and feel of these two designs. “The Journey is widely known as one of the best paddling boats in the 14 foot length category… not to mention the Rogue has really nailed it in the cross over category. ” notes Marty Cronin, JK’s VP of Sales “By adding Sweet Cheeks to the outfitting package for these two designs we have really bumped the value of these offerings to a new level. The combination of the high back support of our touring backband, along with the sweet cheeks and hip pads, gives your customers a solid outfitting package that will have an amazing fit and tremendous support for a great paddling experience. “

I see the 2012 Rockstars come with a more plush version of the Sweet Cheeks, I have a 2011 with the black Cheeks, can I convert? What’s the new Cheeks called?
Thx!
Two questions: As an owner of a 2011 Rogue who paddles a max of 4 hours at a time will the Sweet Cheeks help much?
Also can you comment on the type of spray skirt to purchase for a Rogue 10? Should it be one with suspenders or without?
I’ve never used suspenders except for flatwater skirts made of nylon, so if it’s neoprene you’ll be fine without.
The Sweet Cheeks just makes every boat more comfortable…. some people can sit on church pews for hours no problem some can’t. I would normally not complain about a kayak seat but Im addicted to my sweet cheeks now that I’m so used to it and transfer it from boat to boat often. So yes, it helps. Whether you ‘need it’ or not can be answered every time you get near the takeout … are you in pain or uncomfortable or not?
