This year Hope and I spent Thanksgiving at the beach with our boating family from Reno. Good food and tough waves were the ticket for a great weekend. We had big 10 ft swell that did not want to get steep and peel off. It either was a pusher or it would jack up all at once and dump you. The Fun Runner was the ticket to get the most possible fun out of these waves. The speed allowed me to catch way more waves and to stay out in the green on the pushers. Every once in a while you would get lucky and be able to throw off of the lip for a blunt. Ruth and Jessica were able to bounce into some spectacular freestyle moves in their Rockstars while Toby and Newt were in full on surf boats. The fun runner let me play with a bit of each of these two different paddling styles. My Fun Runner 70 arrives tomorrow, and I cannot wait! Enjoy the photos and video. I was playing with different ways to mount the Go Pro for the surf so keep that in mind. When it gets a bit whited out.

Colin, really beautiful video of the FR in ocean surf. EJ gave the impression in one of his comments to a guy just a bit heavier than you that even the FR 70 might not float him too well, but you look like you’re doing fine even in the 60. I’m about 235, and was looking for a stable downriver boat that I could also use for ocean surfing. Really want to hear how the FR 70 floats you, especially in the surf. As I’ve got a few decades on you, I also want stability, so a sporty, stable boat in the surf that I could also take downriver is what I’m looking for. Thanks for your update. Hope to see lots more!
