My first outing on the salt in 2017, also my first saltwater outing on the new Kraken Elite 15.5, colour (Rockfish).
I met up with a few local kayak anglers and headed to a nearby spot not far from home, the weather was not great nor was it to pick up.
Once organised and on the water I fished a few productive spots with bait on the bottom hoping for a Cod or Ling, a couple of hours went by without a bite.
Ok…. Plan B….. Light lure rods came out and we fished close in to the rocks for Pollock, a fish that is here all year round, and as predicted I was not disappointed. We all had a crazy couple of hours relentlessly fighting this fish, nothing of any size tho great crack on soft lures and light gear…
The weather turned for the worse with the wind really picking up and the odd heavy sun shower, a couple of us landed on a nearby island and done some exploring.
It’s a perfect spot for an over night stay and maybe a 2 day fishing session when the water temperature rises and the other species start to move inshore.
