Fishing has always been a part of my life. Yes, it is fun to show off your trophy catch, but it is much more than that. Fishing provides a way to test your limits physically and mentally, especially your patience. Fishing allows you the opportunity to visit remote places or to see the beauty right in your own backyard. But best yet, fishing provides a foundation to make friends, build relationships, and make stories and memories that will last a lifetime.
Growing up in Florida helped to lay the groundwork of what has become a passion. From an early age, I can remember fishing with different members of my family. From wading the creek behind my house after school, to stalking the flats for snook and redfish, to going offshore for bigger game, I have always found a way to be near water. I have had the privilege to fish most every state in the US, and multiple locations in the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Gulf of Mexico. I have been able to travel with friends to exotic locations such has the Bahamas and Costa Rica, and have made some of my best memories because of it.
Starting in May 2009, I began working at the factory for Jackson Kayak, helping with almost every aspect of producing a kayak. Not long after, I was asked to help the Design Team and now am part of JK’s Product Development team. I have the privilege of working with some of the most influential people in the industry and am now able to take my experience to others through expos and events. Daily I get to work with and meet people that share the same love for the outdoors. Because of this, I have been helped to realize what this job is really all about – Providing a way for others to make their own memories.
