Some people have made the river their lives, and some of those people live for more than just themselves. Those who bring the river experience to others so that their lives are also enriched are special people. Phil Boyer is that man. A veteran guide on the Grand Canyon and in Chile', Phil's self-education of the big picture surrounding the river experience makes him a wealth of knowledge and stories. He is welcome in any kayaker's campfire conversation. He makes his living in two seasons and the other two seasons are spent spending his hard earned river money paddling the creeks of Western USA. As a member of the Jackson Kayak Creek Team, Phil will get to bring his incredible skills, experience, and love for the river to a creek near you.

I have had the pleasure of being lead around the high sierra's by Phil and his professional guiding passion and skills make him a top choice for anyone who cares about safety, a good time, exploring a new run, and learning something along the way.

For any questions about creeking, feel free to add Phil to your list of contacts!

While rafting the Grand Canyon at age 13, Phil knew that whitewater would be his life's passion ? twenty years and two whitewater world championships later, running hard whitewater is Phil's niche. His favorite runs include huge water like the Baker in Chile at 80,000 cfs and the Futaleufu at 100,000 cfs, and technical stretches in high elevation Sierra Nevada granite like Golden Gate, Upper Cherry Creek and the South Merced. Although Phil is known as someone who craves big challenges; ultimately, helping his friends and family discover new rivers is his most meaningful experience.

After twenty years of abusing the leading creek and playboats, Phil appreciates the tremendous advancements in boat design for hulls and outfitting. He feels that boats like the Rocker transform your thinking ? from you & the boat, to you & the river. And the Fun and Star series, have combined ease-of-use with performance ? making it possible for his girlfriend and his mom to share the river experience with him! Even the smallest design evolution can deliver tremendous improvements to the boating experience.

Big water, big smiles, big help - that's Phil.
