I have a super hero purchased probably 10 years ago. My friend who is experienced whitewater kayaker described my super hero as “relatively stable in easy water”. Help me understand how this (performance characteristic) relates to the design of the super hero I have and how other designs allow for other performance options. Jim
Sounds like you have the ”speed racer” first version, which is a medium sized narrow fast river runner.
The Hero line was revamped twice since then and is now our short, phat creeker – ridiculous stability short length and easy boofing. It’s a much better beginner boat as it’s so stable and easy to paddle.
The Karma is longer and faster than the current SH but nothing will be as tippy as your original superhero…
Zen is our current river runner, and it’s long and fast but wide and planing hulled for surfing and spinning where your version would not be able to slide around.
Original Superhero – medium size FAST narrow boat for cruising downriver like a slalom racer or doing extreme races.
Today’s Superhero – short phat easy to paddle slower but really friendly boat for larger people (180-250lbs)
There’s a shop in Pucon that sells our boats run by Ian Garcia and his family and they have really good prices for getting them there. They might take a bit to call you back but they are GREAT to work with in my experience. It’s run by the guys who did Northern Lights in Montana. Good Luck! Clay
