I have been lucky enough to have gotten several early test runs in the Cuda LT. This kayak shares many of the same features and functions of the Cuda 12, however it is a completely different creature. The Cuda LT is noticeably more stable, and you are up to speed effortlessly due to it being under the 60 pound threshold. Not only is this boat fast, it tracks well too, and this has been a great reservoir and lake boat for me this year. I have not had it out on the river yet, however I feel like it is tough enough to do this, and it certainly maneuvers quick enough for moving water as the Cuda 12 does.
The new 2.0 seat looks amazing, the new black mesh fabric is more breathable, and the curved seat back makes casting and paddling much more comfortable while wearing a PFD; as you always should. The lumbar support for the seat was a pleasant surprise, and it is made by Therm-A-Rest. Speaking of comfort, getting this boat to the water is not bad; it does weigh about 15 pounds less than the Cuda 12. Getting it off the water isn’t bad either, and as you know, this is the time when you want a super light boat. Another comfortable feature is the grab handles, they are the hard plastic handles, rather than the traditional Cuda toggle handles that I honestly have a bad relationship with.
