Last weekend we held the 2nd annual Ladies on the Lochsa- an all female paddle down the beautiful Lochsa River near Lowell, ID. This year we had 18 RAD women show up and crush it on the river together! I think that is a new record for the most women paddling the Lochsa River at the same time! It was so much fun paddling with such a supportive group of ladies who all share the same passion for the river.
My favorite moment from the day was when I was leading my friend Chandra down Grim Reaper rapid for her first time. I took a line that was a bit too far right and ended up getting flipped by a weird wave-hole. Chandra followed my line exactly and flipped in the same spot. I rolled up super fast and looked back at her just in time to see her roll up and then absolutely style the rest of the rapid.
I am super stoked to live in a community with so many strong women. I am already looking forward to next year!
Shout out to Matt Rusher for being the best shuttle bunny and photographer out there!
