As we floated at the pool of Big Banana Falls, in Veracruz, Mexico, we realized it had been about 13 years since we started paddling together. Nick Troutman, Joel Kowalski, Thomas Fahrun, and myself, formed the very first Keener group at Ottawa Kayak School. For some reason, it was this day that we were together again, and we jumped on a magical time machine, as we paddled the challenging rapids and drops, mesmerized at how we all still kayak. Our lives have gone different ways, but kayaking is that common point, and this day the steep waters of Veracruz were the place we converged and enjoyed another incredible day on the water yet again.
