Description

AD3 — 50 - 75 lbs.

The world’s most popular hunting and companion breeds — pointers, setters, coonhounds and perennial favorites, goldens and labs — just want to go where you go. Same with goofy, chunky mixed-breed rescues. AD3 is built so you don’t have to think twice about making them all happy. Our handle/tie-down system secures your companion instantly, using your vehicle’s restraints or your own straps. Multi-directional door opens as your situation dictates — left, right, up or removed entirely. Available essentials keep food, water and leashes organized and handy. If he could, your wingman would type this part: #BringYourDog.

Ships from our factory in Sparta TN in approximately two to seven days. Do not leave your dog kenneled without supervision.

Max External: 34″L x 22.5"W x 23"H • External Footprint: 29"L x 18.5"W • Internal Footprint: 28"L x 17.5"W • Total Weight: 26 lbs

  • Best Kennel for the money

Fantastic solidly built kennel. Definitely the best out there for the money. Even the shelter commented on how serious this kennel is. The rope handles on the side make it easy to move, even with the dog in it. The snap on door cannot be opened from the inside, feels secure, and doesn't rattle or shake. The sizing seems a little opimistic but you want a tight fit if you are using it for travel. But it would be too small if the dog is locked in there regularly for a long time. Our 55 lbs Setter/Chessie mix fits fine for travel.

GREAT DESIGN! Great kennel! The only reasons this received 3 stars is due to the sizing description and the fact that I have to sell it to get another one. I was unable to find a dealer near me to try the kennel out so I was up in the air about whether it would fit or not. I went by what breeds the kennel was recommended for. It's too pricy to return so now I have to sell it at a lesser price to buy a new one. Here's the thing, I'm still willing to purchase the AD4 just because I love the design. My 55lb. GSP is pretty tight in there. I'd recommend the AD4 for long legged dogs.
After long hunts these dogs need to stretch their legs out while resting.

I bought the AD3 kennel for my GSP pup a couple of months ago. We began kennel training and I think the kennel is great when they're puppies since they can't chew on anything (my pup got her teeth caught in a wire crate).

    Pros:
-rope provides great tie-downs and carry handles
-door can be taken off and open either direction (useful in vehicles)
    -construction seems high quality
    -free shipping (when I purchased)

    Cons:
    -expensive
-no drain hole (my puppy has accidents!)
-I would prefer more vent holes

Overall, I would recommend this kennel. The rope handles are a great feature. But no drain? Try hosing this thing out and draining it completely by yourself.

First off, I would say that the kennel itself gets 5 stars. I don't have much experience with dog kennels, but this thing is awesome! Build is great, fit / finish everything. It is very stout, I would have no qualms about transporting my dog in this kennel...if she fit...which is where those missing stars went.
I don't have much experience purchasing dog kennels. The description on the website says the AD3 kennel is sized for dogs 50-70 lbs. Our dog is between 55-60 lbs. It also suggests that this kennel will fit pointers, setters, coonhounds, goldens and labs. Our dog is a lab mix and on the small side. She can get into the kennel ok, but struggles to turn around and is a bit squished once she lays down. So I needed to return it.
Jackson Adventures is located in Sparta Tennessee, so I bought it direct from their website rather than from Amazon since both offered free shipping and in my head I thought this somehow kept things "more local" (I live in Nashville Tennessee). That is all well and good, unless you need to return something...it cost $120 to ship our AD3 back to Jackson Adventure. My plan was to exchange our AD3 for an AD4 but with the return shipping that would put my kennel investment into the $650 range which is outside my budget.
So while I absolutely loved the kennel, I am very disappointed by the sizing description on the website. Our dog meets the only two sizing suggestions on the website and yet she didn't fit. I would suggest a little blurb at the end of the description that says something like "All dogs are different...call us and we can help you size a kennel..."
