Description
The Knarr FD is 100% dialed-in on the challenges presented by oceans and large lakes. Bring on the surf, current, wind, tide and the elements - these are the focus of our design.
NEW FOR 2025 - our steering system has been updated from a two-handed to a single-handed system, which eliminates the excess steering line and greatly reduces the amount of manual tensioning required due to temperature fluctuations.
NEW FOR 2026: Every model in our 2026 fishing lineup now comes equipped with the Jackson Kayak Comfort Seat 5.0. Designed with a deeper ergonomic base for better posture and lower center of gravity, the 5.0 delivers improved support, increased comfort, and a more connected feel on the water. It’s the most advanced version of our iconic seat system, now standard across the board.

What an amazing boat
I mainly fish out of a knarr, this boat is just amazing, from how many modifications you can do to it, to the way it handles big waters.

Fast and Nimble
When I first picked up my Knarr I was initially concerned about the size and weight because I like to fish the backwater tidal shallows. I quickly discovered how fast the MarkIV drive moves this kayak and how it handled as if it were a much smaller kayak. Cutting with ease through the current and chop. And that day the weather got bad on us it took the waves and wind on with out an issue getting us back to the ramp safe. Oh and did I mention the live well scupper that keeps my bait fresh and lively because nothing beats live bait when your fishing the salt.

Stability
Me bing a 6'2" 280lbs "BIG BOY" I looked high and low for a kayak that would handle me and my needs. I got to demo many kayaks before landing on the Knarr. I have owned it for a year now and have put it through the tests. It has been on rivers in some pretty shallow waters. It has also been on main lakes facing 3 to 4 foot waves and 30 plus mph winds. The Knarr never made me feel like I was unstable or not safe in any situation. I stand up on it with ease and the seat is comfertable enough to allow me to fish for hours. Thank you Jackson Kayak for an amazing and stable kayak

made the change from Hobie
I eyed this boat while I was in a PA14 and took the leap of faith to hop in a Jackson. I was amazed at how fast this boat was and how it maintains its stability with this speed. Love the horizontal rod storage internally for transport and the large front and rear hatches for wiring/rigging/battery storage. My FAVORITE feature is the drive. instant reverse, kicks up when hitting objects, and very easy to access with the door in the middle of the kayak. the TriTrak makes rigging have infinite possibilities, and the quality of parts makes me confident I wont be worrying about anything failing while on the water. I HIGHLY recommend this kayak for tournament anglers and those who love to fish large lakes.

Ultimate Fishing Kayak
After fishing many years in a boat, I started fishing in a kayak this year. I already own two fishing kayak (another brand and now the Knarr FD). The Knarr is by far the best of my two kayaks. It's faster, has a lot more space, everything has been though of (to install accessories), it's super stable (fished in heavy winds and big waves). I love my Knarr. Jackson Kayak has really created the ultimate fishing kayak.
You can put the prop in position two to pedal in shallow and make it also almost weedless. It turns fast. Yes it is heavy but it was not built to walk around with it. It's a real tank!
