New Knaar steering kit
I found jo issues with the new Knaar steering kit and parts. All were Jackson quality and accounted for. The written documentation for the installation is good bit emphasis needs to be clear on rigging the steering handle. If you don’t read the instructions carefully and watch the video, you can get in trouble. The most difficult install process is grabbing the new steering cable inside the hull and making sure you rout it correctly. The steering pully in the back that drives the rudder is a hassle to adjust. Adjusting the cable tension was problematic in the old system with two handles as well. It took about three hours to install because the steering mechanism and process of installling requires rereading the instructions. My bad.

Knarr Steering Upgrade
It felt a little daunting at first. I just took my time and followed the instructions.
Taking it out on the water, what a better experience. The turning response is leaps and bounds better. Before it felt like there was too much friction and drag with the rudder control. Now it feels free and turns so easily. It is a must have if you are not happy with the standard configuration. -
What a fantastic upgrade
This steering upgrade on the Knarr is a game changer and very easy to do.
