Description

After 30 years of float bags looking the same, you wouldn't expect to find any major innovations in them. Well, enter the world of Jackson Kayak! Paddling without float bags is not a good idea if you ever swim, might swim, ever had a skirt blow, ever might have a skirt blow, or value your kayak. The Fun Float is a single horseshoe shaped bag that goes behind your rear wall to give you a single bag that will stay in, even in the worst swims, filling the entire stern of your kayak. Made of sturdy urethane like the Happy Feet. The fun float measures 29” L x 26” W.

Fits our playboats only.

It was tricky to get this float into my Antix 1.0. The horse collar shape means you have to thread one end past the rear pillar at the stern without bunching up the float. Not owning an electrician's fish tape, I snaked a 6' piece of coax cable around the rear pillar, then tied a piece of cord to it. I tied the other end to the float (NOT the side with the inflation valve!), and then gently pulled the cable back around the pillar until I could grab the float. I then carefully worked the float around the pillar until both halves were even. I also checked to make sure the float didn't get twisted. The inflation valve was too far behind the cockpit to get my mouth on it (Antix is 8' long), so I jammed a piece of clear plastic tubing over the valve and inflated the float using the tubing as an extension of the inflation valve. I twisted the valve shut, and jammed the extension tubing back on it in case I ever need to blow air into the float.
