Outstanding cooler
In addition to this 45 qt cooler, I have the Orion 25 and 65 qt coolers. I love them but too often they are in between sizes for the perfect balance. Often times the 25 qt is a little too small, and the 65 qt is a bit too big. This cooler is a goldilocks size, just right for most needs. If i could only get one cooler, the 45 qt would be it unless I'm needing to put it into a kayak.
Like other Orion coolers, the quality is amazing and the ice retention is bar none.
People think that ice retention isn't important because you can buy lots of ice for the price of these over a cheap alternative. While that is true, the amount of water that gets in the cheap coolers is excessive, can spoil food, not to mention the warmer temperatures inside those cheaper ice chests that raises safety concerns.
With the Orion coolers ice retention, the internal temperatures remain far lower, which is why the ice lasts so long. Your food stays fresher longer with the colder temps. Not to mention the food safety of the colder temps.
They are strong and comfortable to sit or stand on all day long. Its been a hefty investment with all three coolers, but I've been very pleased with them all. -
Durability
You know that guy that breaks the un-breakable hammer? The guy who says, “Meh! Don’t worry! There is a fudge factor built in to it!”? The guy who says “Here, hold my drink. This is gonna be fun!”? That’s me. Heavy handed, rough, and an engineers worst nightmare. This cooler has: Been used as a log dog to cut up a tree. Been blown off my four wheeler and down a rock ravine ( No drinks lost). Hit by a truck driven by “That friggin guy…). Bears? Bears are easy. This thing could handle a Mack truck like a champ. I would bet it could even save a failing relationship. At least it’s ice cold contents will probably make you feel better about it anyhow. You won’t go wrong buying this cooler.

The best
I have had this cooler for a few years. It has withstood all the abuse I've put it through. I am extremely hard on coolers. Was buying a yeti atleast once a year. Thankful to find this company. Just ordered a 35Q, that will make 2 45's and a 35. All work as they did day 1.
