I love my Tripper! I’m big, 240 lbs 6 ft tall and I paddle black water and swamps with lots of obstacles like downed trees and crypress knees. The Tripper is extremely stable yet easy to paddle and relatively fast for a wide hull shape. The seat comfort is the best I’ve ever found, I can sit in my Tripper for hours without butt squirm. At 68 pounds it’s heavy for a kayak but lighter than the current rage of sit on tops. If you are a man sized recreational paddler this is a great choice.

I have had the Tripper 12 for a few months now and absolutely love it. It is a scaled down Kilroy so it is perfect for fishing and customizing to your liking. I've tried sit on tops and they are just not for me. This fits all of my needs being super comfortable, having a wide open cockpit for tons of storage, and doesn't weigh 1,000 pounds! I do wish Jackson would make a smaller version of this one for the ladies. My girlfriend loves it but it's way to big for her. If there was a 10.5 - 11ft version and a couple inches narrower, it would be the perfect rec kayak for smaller people who want to stretch out and also have room for a cooler full of beer!

  • Excellent river kayak!

I absolutely love the Tripper 12. I owned one a few years back and ended up selling it in order to buy a higher end Jackson. I have regretted it ever since. I now have one ready to pick up this week and i cannot WAIT top get it. It is fairly light weight, tracks extremely well and is very fast in the water. I have fished for catfish and small mouth out of mine. It is also perfect for river excursions. I take my 7 year old son out on trips and there is plenty of room for him to sit in front me. You will not regret buying this. it is truly amazing!
